I was 12 and I got a lawnmower. It was in pieces and had to be put together. I thought I had racked up because of all the small presents I got. That following summer I figured out what it meant to really work for money when I cut yards in the neighborhood for $25 a piece. My dad figured out that he placed the sprinklers on the sprinkler system in the yard too high when I kept running over them with the mower. I think we broke even between the cost of the mower and the cost of the sprinklers.
